Sling TSI

Today, I recieved a letter from the Luftfahrt Bundesamt confirming the application for my Sling TSI built. In addition to that, they also approved the selection of my examiner and my referee which will supervise the whole building process. A few days later, I got a message from Johan (Aircraft Builders Europe) informing me about the production status of the first part of my kit. The production process is finished and all the parts of my first order are ready to be shipped....

Good news, I just recieved the serial-number of my Sling TSi kit. My airplane will be number 517sk and the first parts will hopefully be delivered by the end of the year. Besides getting the airplane built, there is a bunch of paperwork to be done. I registered myself as a member of the Oskar-Ursinus-Vereinigung (OUV) as they are the responsible party for building experimental aircrafts in Germany. Once the registration on their end was completed, we started working on the first expert report....

I’ve completed the first order of parts from Aircraft Builders Europe, the European distributor for Sling. I will start with the Fuselage Kit (STSI-003) which contains the complete forward, mid and rear fuselage. Including the assembled centre spar, the rear spar, the front and rear seats, all control mechanisms (throttle, stick, pedals etc), the firewall, the engine mount, steps and a copy of the construction manual. Additionally, I ordered the Canopy, Dash, Final Assembly and Finishing Kit (STSI-005)....

After a long time of thinking about building my own Sling TSI plane from scratch, I finally ordered the first part of the kit (will cover it in an additional post). Apart from the actual ordering of the kit, I was also thinking about the preparation of the workshop in order to be able to actually build the plane once the parts arrived. So I decied to built three EAA 1000 Worktables over the next few days....
